Perceive Truth, to recognize it as true. In the gospel and in the life of Christ he spoke in Parables. These were confusing to the listeners at times. People were required to follow this Messiah and listen. Today in the world people herald many truths. Also actions of people reveal that many rather be people pleasers than tell the truth. At times, the real truth can be brutal. In today’s article we find those who loved the praise of men. How many politicians and famous people; along with those around us who follow this without thinking. In Christianity this can cost you your soul.

Perceive Truth: Loving Praise of Men
The way of the World to Perceive Truth is Loving Praise of Men. They refuse to honor the Praise and truth of God! Many of the chief rulers believed on Christ, but because of the Pharisees, they did not confess him. If they were to do so, these influential men would have been put out of the synagogue. That just would not do! To please men was more important.
It has been the battle since the time of Jesus Christ. It was our Lord who took the truth to the Chief rulers, High Priest, Pharisees, Sadducees, and others in the Roman occupied Middle East. It was the truth he brought and his goal was to give that truth and not to please men. The Apostles took that calling and mantle from the Lord and went with the gospel into all the known world and in spite of opposition of men, threats of death, and imprisonment; the gospel message got out!
Perceive Truth: Loving Praise of Men
(36) While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them.
(37) But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him:
(38) That the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed?
(39) Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again,
(40) He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.
(41) These things said Esaias, when he saw his glory, and spake of him.
(42) Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue:
(43) For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.
Joh 12:36-43
Therefore, the confession of Christ Jesus and who he was did not come from the lips of these very important people. Yet they believed that Jesus was who he said he was; but they did not say a thing about what they believed.
“For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God! “He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.” -Jesus Christ in John 12
Jesus Christ in John 12 | Perceive Truth: Loving Praise of Men
However, our marching orders state in Revelation that the Remnant believer at that time overcame by their testimony and confession. In fact, it says “they overcame by the Word of their testimony.” It is a requirement though when looking at Revelation for those saints in this period to understand certain things. One was they had overcome the dragon, the devil; old slew foot by the blood of Jesus Christ who died on the cross. The believer, believed this, received Christ, confessed sins; and gave the Word of their testimony about their Lord. They also were to love the Lord above and beyond their own lives. This is the overcoming believer. In the days of the Apostles and the early church it was the case, today it is the same. In the future there is no change at all; for as a believer in the end of days, the tribulation; they too, are to give the Word of their testimony!
They overcame by the blood of Jesus Christ, the Word of their testimony, and they loved not their lives unto the death! Rev 12:11
Perceive Truth: Loving Praise of Men
Perceive Truth “Those who hate that name”
But one thing is for sure here regarding these Rulers who were chief among the brethren. They had seen the miracles which Jesus [Yeshua] Christ had done. No one had done these kinds of miracles before. They had heard his teachings with authority. Again, no one spoke with such authority backed by such miracles. As a result, they believed on him. However, the Chief Priest and his crew; backed by many in the Sanhedrin were not convinced as to who this young upstart Prophet was. They knew his miracles were beyond what they could explain. They only thing they could do is stand and watch helplessly and plot against the Lord. For they were worried the whole world would follow him.
Included in this crowd would have been a young radical Pharisee by the name of Saul. He also had been there at Stephens martyrdom, having consented to his death. This is the very one that the church would see become Paul the Apostle, as we know of him today. He would be the very one to lead the gospel and the good news of salvation in Jesus Christ to the Gentiles. Paul, after his conversion said those things he did, were done ignorantly.
The important thing to know is that it was not just the chief rulers who feared the powerful hierarchy of the synagogue among the Jews. The man born blind who Jesus healed; was interrogated over his miracle. His parents were also brought before the Jews. They feared these rulers as well. This was the climate at the time. You simply never opposed the Chief priests, the Sanhedrin, and the Jews in charge.
Perceive Truth: Loving Praise of Men
(22) These words spake his parents, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any man did confess that he was Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue.
Joh 9:22
The importance of a Christian’s testimony cannot be overstated here. It is by the very words we speak, to wit confessing Jesus Christ, that the heralding of the gospel goes forth. While we are to do it in love, we are still to go ahead and confess him. Now, I am not talking about standing on a rooftop preaching; that is okay. I am not talking about preaching on a street corner, or in a church. I am speaking of a comfortable, persistent, and faith based witness of your Lord and what he has done in your life. It is presented to people in an everyday conversation, easily, not pushy, and being led of the Spirit of God. I am also not talking of going door to door with the gospel. Many in the church and evangelistic field have used that tactic. I have also seen this done in mass phone evangelization.
Perceive Truth “confessing Christ before men”
None of these avenues fit this witness and confession aspect. As far as I am concerned, the scripture links specifically these confessions of faith about your Lord directly to your redemption. How so? Let us look.
Mat 10:32-33
(32) Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.
(33) But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.
Luk 12:8-9
(8) Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God:
(9) But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.
1Jn 4:14-15
(14) And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.
(15) Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.
2Jn 1:7
(7) For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.
Rev 3:5-7
(5) He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
(6) He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
(7) And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;

Perceive Truth “Confessing Christ defined”
Confessing Christ Jesus, speaking about him is very important. Although our testimony can be offensive to other religions, nations, governments, and rulers; we cannot but keep speaking Christ. The early Apostles were taken in by authorities and told to stop speaking of that name. Below are two examples of those opposed to the preaching and speaking of the name of Jesus Christ.
Simply and firmly put, the Apostles were to stop what they were doing. We find out that scripture in this context gives us an explanation of what we call confessing Christ. Peter and John, were pointedly told to stop speaking and teaching in the name of Jesus. To this they replied, “We cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.” It was their personal experience and testimony about their relationship with and in Jesus Christ. It is also true that the Apostles suffered for their boldness and testimony. They were thrown in jail, beaten, hated, and pursued. However, miracles and signs followed their ministry, the gospel went forth to the very ends of the Roman Empire and beyond.
Many were saved and the church grew. God worked closely with them, with signs following the Word of God being taught and preached. Make no mistake no weak hearts here. This is the same pattern that the Remnant Believers in Jesus Christ are to follow. In addition, you can expect to honor your faith, testimony, and preaching Gods Word. God will confirm his Word preached by his Faithful Servants, even in these last days! Expect it, Receive it, Believe it!
Perceive Truth: Loving Praise of Men
(18) And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.
(19) But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.
(20) For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.
(21) So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding nothing how they might punish them, because of the people: for all men glorified God for that which was done.
Act 5:38-41
(38) And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought:
(39) But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.
(40) And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.
(41) And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.
Act 4:18-21
Your testimony is those things which you have personally seen, heard, been taught, and experienced in your own relationship with Jesus Christ. Simply it is how your Lord has affected your life. You then just tell folks how your Lord has manifested himself to you; through the bible, through prayer, through experiences, and through miracles.
Perceive Truth “One World religion”
There is a push by those in today’s liberal and modern Church leadership to silence open witnessing. If a testimony is given, it is watered down, and polluted by liberal doctrinal man pleasing admonitions. But it is through the Holy Spirit’s leading that we are to give our confession or testimony of Christ Jesus. The world, however hates this preaching, teaching, and testimony of Jesus Christ. They will do anything to stop it. They will not admit it, but they fear this confession and testimony that often leads others to redemption. To stop such activity by Christians and the Church there is a global religious push today. This push is combined with a liberal Church attitude to the Apostolic and Early Church methods. The push combines a unity of faith among churches and religions of all kinds marking the global One World Religion.
This push has been ongoing since the Vatican II council of the sixties. The Catholic church for centuries has always sought to get all under the banner of the Rome Church. For instance, Pope Francis meets with Muslim leaders to bring the division between Islam and Christianity to an agreeable point. That is not a bad thing. That is unless you put the onus on Christians not to confess Jesus Christ because it upsets Muslims. When you upset Muslims, Christians get killed. Don’t insist he is the Son of God because that also makes Muslims mad. But not the Muslims only, because governments and other religions hate the Christian and their lone savior and redemption. In short say anything, preach anything, but the True Gospel which is the Love of the Truth!
There is no doubt that the Catholic church has for decades pushed the idea of a mother church to all religions. Even the fact that we find Pope Benedict in 1918 declaring in his Inter Sodalicia ‘meaning the sorrowful virgin Mary’ that because of her suffering, and that of her son; she became a co-redeemer with Christ. So today, Mary stands as co-redeemer with Christ Jesus. Make sure this teaching has also been debated within the Catholic church. The quote below is from one such arena in the Catholic wings. The objection was the fact of declaring Mary co-redeemer in the first place. Apologetic Catholics explain it away emphasizing Christ Jesus is the real redeemer. Yet we cannot put anyone next to Christ as this. It is simple doctrinal hell!
OBJECTION– In his March 22, 1918, document Inter Sodalicia, Pope Benedict XV teaches that Mary has redeemed the world with Christ.
Pope Benedict XV, Inter Sodalicia, March 22, 1918: “For with her suffering and dying Son, Mary endured suffering and almost death. She gave up her Mother’s rights over her Son to procure the salvation of mankind, and to appease the divine justice, she, as much as she could, immolated her Son, so that one can truly affirm that together with Christ she has redeemed the human race.”

But the idea here and the truth is that there is an obvious push to unite the world in religion. We have been tracking this effort for many years. In Cairo’s al-Azhar University, which is a leading Islamic center for Sunni Muslims, an International peace conference is held. It was at one such conference where Pope Francis gave a speech and was given a rousing applause. According to the information obtained, which you can read in the quote below [obtained from Gatestone Institute], there was a method used by the Pope to not offend Muslims. For they consider him [Jesus Christ] only a prophet, while Christians follow biblical truth that he is the Son of God. Those observing and listening said that the Pope seemed to deliberately avoid any explicit mention of the Lords name. The Pope used general names, like God and the Absolute. Here we find the Pope sought to please men and not God. If this is true, then the evidence points in that direction of pleasing men and not God. Yet for the Catholics, questioning El-Papa is not an option.
Similar sentiments were expressed by the leaders of Cairo’s al-Azhar University — the world’s leading Islamic center of learning for Sunni Muslims — at its International Peace Conference in April, after Pope Francis delivered an address for which the audience awarded him much applause.
According to an account in the National Catholic Register, “Probably to avoid offending its Muslim members, who consider Jesus only a prophet, [Pope Francis] seemed to deliberately omit any explicit mention of the Lord’s name, preferring to focus more generally on ‘God’ and the ‘Absolute.'”-Source-Gatestone Institute
Declaring biblical truth, gospel truth is where we must be found. This is the crux of the whole issue, we cannot for one moment stop our testimony or confession of Jesus Christ. The world will reject him, as Paul in 2 Thessalonians chapter two states. They will reject “the Love of the truth”. Here this is the gospel truth, the Son of God dying on the Cross for the sins of mankind, and the Father who so loved the World. We are entering a time when the whore church will please the world, to keep men and rulers happy.
They will unite with other religions, combining ideas for a world peace and one world religion measured under the guise of the common good and decency in the world. Don’t offend, don’t be pushy, keep silent, and don’t make them mad. There will be laws made to stop proselytizing. For the Christian this means no witnessing or testimony, handing out tracks, giving bibles. These efforts by Christians will be viewed as efforts to bring people into your religion and away from another religion. It will be the Gospel without the “Go”. Remember our commission, “Go ye therefore” in Matthew 28?
However, our duty is not to please men but God. We come with a sword, which is the Word of God. Christ did not come to bring peace to the world. He came to bring peace and redemption into the hearts, souls, and minds of those who receive him! There is no cloak for the sin of men, it is open and before God. As well, although all have sinned and come short of the glory of God, there is no excuse for them to die in their sins. Christ made a way for all men. We are to confess this, even if they hate us, kill us, and destroy the church. The devil will stop at nothing to silence who Jesus Christ is and what he did to save mankind.
Perceive Truth: Loving Praise of Men
(44) Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me.
(45) And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me.
(46) I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.
(47) And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
(48) He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.
(49) For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.
(50) And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.
Joh 12:44-50
Perceive Truth “Conclusion”
In conclusion we should not please men, rulers, or the church. The church is not the church. Just like Israel is not Israel. We are one in Christ Jesus, by faith. For there will be only one in Christ. Those who are in him by faith, as his follower, and keeping himself pure from the world. Walking in the light, there will be no male or female, Jew or Gentile; but all one in Christ Jesus. It is not a battle of manmade religions, sexes, politics, or of church denominations. It not about being Catholic, Jew, Gentile, Protestant, Mormon, or whatever. Christ Jesus cut through all this manmade stuff.
We are to testify Christ Jesus and him alone. While there are places to gather, it is the man-made doctrines in many cases since the time of the Apostles that have distorted the gospel truth. The biblical record points out the Wolves and false prophets that we were warned about. The grandest heresy found in the church began in the highest levels of our theological seminaries. It is then passed down there to the local churches and those who hear it will believe it. No matter how grand a delusion it is. I could give you many such examples here, but I will not.
Moreover, this has nothing to do with Catholics or the Pope. When I speak of these things, I speak of testifying Christ Jesus and his redemption. Of people and religions, beliefs and faiths; I care not what they are, who they are, or anything else. You are either in him or not! The witness of Jesus Christ will go to the ends of the earth, then and only then will the end come. It will go forth as a witness. When all nations and peoples stand before the Lord they will have not one shred of an excuse to give. For the witness of Jesus Christ will be thoroughly given to all and in all nations before the end comes.
For saith the gospel:
Perceive Truth: Loving Praise of Men
(11) He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
(12) But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
(13) Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
(14) And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Joh 1:11-14
Thus, we are born of God, not by the Will of men or their man-made denominations or religions. Further Paul says in Galatians chapter one, that if an “angel preaches any other gospel that the one we [the Apostles] have preached unto you, let him be accursed.” Yes, there are evil angels who appear as light and seem glorious. It is these same angels that in the past have brought lies and other gospels to mankind.
Perceive Truth: Loving Praise of Men
(8) But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
(9) As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
Now you must ask yourself this. Do I believe the gospel given by Jesus Christ, which was given to the Apostles, and then to the early church? Do I believe the gospel record in the bible as absolute truth? When you can answer these questions in earnest, only then will you know where you stand.
Gal 1:8-9
But understand, who can know our own hearts? Can we or can God our Father?
Perceive Truth: Loving Praise of Men
(9) The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
(10) I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
