The Example of Christ
Maximum Overdrive Christianity! The Example of Christ reveals to us, though a son; he was through obedience unto death at the cross. Through this he became the author of eternal salvation unto all that obey him. He came from Glory and perfection, shed himself of his glory and became a man. Fully man, fully God; yet tempted in all points like as us. It is through his obedience to His Father that he showed us that with faith we need obedience. It was no more the temple, the chief priests, the Prophets, but a lot more. Fulfilled in him, carried out by faith when he walked this earth; and took him to Calvary to be the Lamb of God. The Lamb which, led to the slaughter and the shedding of blood to fulfill the blood of the covenant. It was to this end that God, even his Father said of him, “thou art a priest after the order of Melchisedec forever”!
For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him; To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace; Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually. Now consider how great this man was, unto whom even the patriarch Abraham gave the tenth of the spoils.
Heb 7:1-4 Maximum Overdrive Christianity
It is this Melchizedek, whom scripture says of him had no beginning of days, nor end of life. While it is certain this one whom Abraham gave his tithes was one that had no record of these things, i.e. his father, his mother, or any of his posterity. As Barnes writes, “Melchizedek stood alone”. So too, the Son of God who was with the Father in the beginning as John says, “In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” He has also no ending, for he is called “Alpha and Omega”, the beginning and the End! He is the Almighty one in Revelation chapter one. These are those things that in the milk of the Word one must come to an understanding of who Jesus, “Yeshua ha Mashiach” really is!
For he is Christ, the anointed one who was to come, spoken of by the prophets; and did come. He was perfected, yet in his love for the Father and for us; he gave his life. His blood being shed for the redemption of those who would believe, receive, and be obedient to him. For though, these are the basics of Christianity; this same Jesus having been resurrected from the dead; now stands as the Eternal one who will judge all men. His Kingdom is coming and to that which we speak, there is no end thereof. In all these things, and of those things that are yet to be taught to those new in Christ Jesus, or even advanced these can be hard to understand.
Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec. Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing.

Obedience to Christ Jesus: not Just Milk here!
Moreover, it is this obedience to Christ Jesus to which we now speak. This is given to those of full age in the gospel. It is the strong meat of the gospel that feeds them this knowledge and understanding through the Spirit of God. These are those that have moved beyond the milk, which is; the first principles of the oracles of God. To be a babe in Christ Jesus is fine; to be in diapers as a babe until you are grown is abnormal to say the least. It is to this end that Faith in Jesus Christ is more than the first things of the gospel. It is in obedience to the cross that Christ Jesus who came; fulfilled all he was to do. We as his children are not to suck on milk through straws all our life but move beyond the comfortable confines of our cribs of understanding and faith.
It is here that many in Christendom are weak and sickly, dull of hearing. Today especially in the western churches from America, to Canada, to Great Britain, and to Europe; Christians have been comfortable. Not wanting to move beyond the simplicity of just faith. They fail to move into the works and obedience of Christ Jesus. By contrast, we find daily around the world Christians murdered, raped, imprisoned, and daily harassed for their faith. Some even moving beyond this to confront their enemies, to engage in Spiritual warfare, and to find the miraculous occurring on their behalf for deliverances.
Simply, here; it is not just about your comforts! It is your safety, your job, your home, your wage, and your ability to pay for your things to which you have longed for. It is beyond the ability of modern man to know. These things are spiritually discerned and physically experienced as heaven moves into the natural events of mankind on earth. The war is waged between heaven and hell; the truth of redemption must be on our lips, the name of Christ Jesus on our breath, and the conviction in our hearts to be “unto the death of cross” for us. It is our goal to follow all things God will it.
For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Obedience to Christ Jesus: Strong Meat
It is to them, then; that are of full age, who needs strong meat; whereby they can discern both good and evil. It is here that the warrior in Christ stands, with full senses ready, the Spirit of Christ fulfilled in them, through obedience of the Word of God unto all fulfillment in Jesus Christ to the glory of the father. They have gotten passed the simple milk of the beginning things of salvation. As Christ sought God to let the cup pass, yet he said, “not my will, but thine be done”.
Paul here in Hebrews, and yes, he wrote it; spoke to those in Christ to move beyond the simple milk of the gospel. You have received Christ Jesus. You have dipped your heart and soul into the blood of the Lamb. He has touched you and now you believe. But do not do as many in the modern faith do. Move forward, don’t just reside in the light and fluffy teachings that most modern churches give. In fact, many of them do not preach or teach holiness let alone obedience to the Commands of Christ. Neither do they consider the deep and hard to understand things of God. Consider the early church and the Apostles. They had to move beyond the simple things. They were now in the deep river channel of faith and the gospel meeting the world.
We have the church which was and is built on the blood and
the Faith of Jesus Christ. The Blood of Christ was shed for our redemption. The
prophets of old, who warned Israel and prophesied of things to come; shed their
blood in obedience to God. The apostles followed Christ, listened to his
teachings, and saw the miracles he did. But soon they saw his death, burial,
and resurrection. Then they beheld his ascension to heaven on a cloud.
It was then time for these Apostles to move beyond what was. They were the only ones left to herald the Christ of Redemption and of Glory. They had to hear God, and to relate his will to those around them. These waited for the coming of the Spirit of Christ on Pentecost and a power overtook them. This began even deeper things into the gospel of Christ. Now the Apostles were the Christs on earth, the divine messengers anointed of God to give the message of the Lord Jesus Christ. For this milk would not do, they needed the meat of God’s word and the power of the Spirit of God. Before the Chief Priests, priests, and others in the temple plotted to kill Jesus Christ. Now they had all the apostles who were now doing what Christ did. Teaching, preaching, warning, exhorting, and with all this; signs and wonders followed them.
The apostles taught others, who then instructed even more people. The church grew and the Jews along with others persecuted the church in the Roman empire. Now today, we find persecution occurring worldwide for Christians. I believe more Christian blood has been shed than in recent memory. More Christians are jailed, persecuted, and murdered for faith in Jesus Christ than any time before. In America we also see a rejection of Christian faith and truth. Even former Vice President Pence, a Christian has been attacked repeatedly. Yet he says, he is willing to stand up for Christ and be counted.
This is no time for the Church of Jesus Christ to have
“become dull of hearing”! It is not a time for Christians to be still sucking
on the bottles of milk as a babe in Christ. It is time to stand, dig into the
deep things of the bible and of the Word. To be fed on the meat of the Word of
God. To allow your spirit to become exercised to understanding and discernment
of good and evil. Then be obedient and dive into the deeper things of the
Spirit of God which calls you to testify. For it is written by John the
Revelator in Chapter 12 and verse 11 “The overcame him [the beast, the dragon,
lucifer, the devil] by the Blood of the Lamb, the Word of their testimony, and
they loved not their lives unto the death”!
So, then the question here is are you ready for the spiritual meat of the gospel?
Cost of Discipleship
Col 1:19-20 Overcame Him by the Blood of the Lamb -Rev 12:11 (19) For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell; (20) And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

It is the strong meat of the gospel that feeds them this knowledge and understanding through the Spirit of God. These are those that have moved beyond the milk, which is; the first principles of the oracles of God. To be a babe in Christ Jesus is fine; to be in diapers as a babe until you are grown is abnormal to say the least. It is to this end that Faith in Jesus Christ is more than the first things of the gospel. It is in obedience to the cross that Christ Jesus who came; fulfilled all he was to do. We as his children are not to suck on milk through straws all our life but move beyond the comfortable confines of our cribs of understanding and faith.
It is here that many in Christendom are weak and sickly, dull of hearing. Today especially in the western churches from America, to Canada, to Great Britain, and to Europe; Christians have been comfortable. Not wanting to move beyond the simplicity of just faith. They fail to move into the works and obedience of Christ Jesus. By contrast, we find daily around the world Christians murdered, raped, imprisoned, and daily harassed for their faith. Some even moving beyond this to confront their enemies, to engage in Spiritual warfare, and to find the miraculous occurring on their behalf for deliverances.
Simply, here; it is not just about your comforts! It is your safety, your job, your home, your wage, and your ability to pay for your things to which you have longed for. It is beyond the ability of modern man to know. These things are spiritually discerned and physically experienced as heaven moves into the natural events of mankind on earth. The war is waged between heaven and hell; the truth of redemption must be on our lips, the name of Christ Jesus on our breath, and the conviction in our hearts to be “unto the death of cross” for us. It is our goal to follow all things God will it.
Obedience to Christ Jesus: Strong Meat
It is to them, then; that are of full age, who needs strong meat; whereby they can discern both good and evil. It is here that the warrior in Christ stands, with full senses ready, the Spirit of Christ fulfilled in them, through obedience of the Word of God unto all fulfillment in Jesus Christ to the glory of the father. They have gotten passed the simple milk of the beginning things of salvation. As Christ sought God to let the cup pass, yet he said, “not my will, but thine be done”.
Paul here in Hebrews, and yes, he wrote it; spoke to those in Christ to move beyond the simple milk of the gospel. You have received Christ Jesus. You have dipped your heart and soul into the blood of the Lamb. He has touched you and now you believe. But do not do as many in the modern faith do. Move forward, don’t just reside in the light and fluffy teachings that most modern churches give. In fact, many of them do not preach or teach holiness let alone obedience to the Commands of Christ. Neither do they consider the deep and hard to understand things of God. Consider the early church and the Apostles. They had to move beyond the simple things. They were now in the deep river channel of faith and the gospel meeting the world.
We have the church which was and is built on the blood and the Faith of Jesus Christ. The Blood of Christ was shed for our redemption. The prophets of old, who warned Israel and prophesied of things to come; shed their blood in obedience to God. The apostles followed Christ, listened to his teachings, and saw the miracles he did. But soon they saw his death, burial, and resurrection. Then they beheld his ascension to heaven on a cloud.
It was then time for these Apostles to move beyond what was. They were the only ones left to herald the Christ of Redemption and of Glory. They had to hear God, and to relate his will to those around them. These waited for the coming of the Spirit of Christ on Pentecost and a power overtook them. This began even deeper things into the gospel of Christ. Now the Apostles were the Christs on earth, the divine messengers anointed of God to give the message of the Lord Jesus Christ. For this milk would not do, they needed the meat of God’s word and the power of the Spirit of God. Before the Chief Priests, priests, and others in the temple plotted to kill Jesus Christ. Now they had all the apostles who were now doing what Christ did. Teaching, preaching, warning, exhorting, and with all this; signs and wonders followed them.
The apostles taught others, who then instructed even more people. The church grew and the Jews along with others persecuted the church in the Roman empire. Now today, we find persecution occurring worldwide for Christians. I believe more Christian blood has been shed than in recent memory. More Christians are jailed, persecuted, and murdered for faith in Jesus Christ than any time before. In America we also see a rejection of Christian faith and truth. Even former Vice President Pence, a Christian has been attacked repeatedly. Yet he says, he is willing to stand up for Christ and be counted.
This is no time for the Church of Jesus Christ to have “become dull of hearing”! It is not a time for Christians to be still sucking on the bottles of milk as a babe in Christ. It is time to stand, dig into the deep things of the bible and of the Word. To be fed on the meat of the Word of God. To allow your spirit to become exercised to understanding and discernment of good and evil. Then be obedient and dive into the deeper things of the Spirit of God which calls you to testify. For it is written by John the Revelator in Chapter 12 and verse 11 “The overcame him [the beast, the dragon, lucifer, the devil] by the Blood of the Lamb, the Word of their testimony, and they loved not their lives unto the death”!
So, then the question here is are you ready for the spiritual meat of the gospel?
